I’m down to 2 weeks, and I had hoped to have my bags pretty much packed and ready to go at this point. Just so I avoid the last-minute scatterbrainedness of things.
Alas, that is not how my world works, because that is not how my mind works. And I am pretty sure that I’ll be tweaking my packing list up until a day before my trip.
Life in 10kgs
No matter what happens, I intend to pack for my upcoming 2.5-month trip in 10kgs or less. I have even filled out a very geeky Excel sheet detailing the corresponding weight of the things I’m bringing, which I will share with you once I’ve finalized the list.
Now, considering my everyday bag usually weighs some 3-4kgs (I usually bring my portable desktop everywhere, among many other things), that only leaves me with 6-7kgs, which is really the weight limit for budget airlines’ carry-on luggage anyway. I’ve always prided myself in being the lightest packer in my barkada, but packing for 3 to 5-day trips is a lot less daunting than packing for 2.5 months on the road. Getting rid of non-essentials seems to be a recurring theme lately.
Anyway, over the next 2 weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of my favorites travel must-haves (apart from my gadgets), and culminating with the announcement of the winners of my first ever Nomad Manager giveaway! 😀 (Click the link to find out more)
In the meantime, what would YOU keep in your life?
